Blogging... obviously a new skill for me, and very much still in learning mode. After a very long hiatus, for which I humbly apologize, I am back, with much on my mind. It has been a couple of weeks of sheer devastation on the news with the Slave Lake fires as well as the tornadoes in Joplin, MO and other areas. The loss of life is staggering. The loss of life as it was before is also staggering. It is impossible to even empathize with the survivors of these disasters who have lost EVERYTHING. Where to start? How do you re-build your life? For it is not just homes that were lost... it was memories... family foundations... photographs... Christmas ornaments collected over time... children's trading card collections... family heirlooms.... so many 'things' that are so much more than 'things'.
And I pondered my business... I help people SAVE their photos and memories. My business cannot rescue all things lost. But it CAN provide true memory preservation, both in areas of secure photo storage as well as in the ability of my clients to 'marry' their photos with their stories. My business provides 'memory insurance'.
And so it is that I sit and ponder... how many of my family's memories are yet uninsured? What photos are yet unscanned? What stories have not yet been told?
Topping up my memory insurance. Does yours need a top up as well?
